Pathway: Help out with CWU activities and charity work
Many CWU branches organise and run local campaigns and events on issues that affect our members in the workplace and wider society.
Many CWU branches have actively participated in working within local communities raising donations and funds for community groups such as foodbanks, period poverty campaigns and school holiday hunger programmes, among many others.
The CWU are also founders of the CWU Humanitarian Aid (CWUHA) charity which was set up in a response to the plight of vulnerable children in Eastern Europe, UK, Republic of Ireland & Africa.
From poverty relief to raising money for other local and national charities, the way the CWU participate within workplaces and the community is deep and diverse and there’s something for everyone to get involved in. Your branch can also offer you help and support for your own charity projects and ideas.
Speak to your local branch to ask what local and regional initiatives are taking place in your area and how you can help. You can find out what branch you are in from your CWU membership card, alternatively you can speak to your local workplace rep and request this information or look up your branch here.
